A serene weekender in the woods

Designed for family gatherings, this weekend home nestled in wooded Lake County is as serene and charming as its natural surroundings. After finishing an extensive renovation to their 1940’s cottage, our client was overwhelmed by the prospect of furnishing it. With a desire to maintain the comfort and ease of a weekend getaway, we began with an all white house, simple wood floors, and minimal window treatments. We layered light, comfortable fabrics with natural wood furnishings to create a simple, uncomplicated interior. Outdoor fabrics, durable wood surfaces, and consistent linens contribute to this family-friendly home that requires minimal care and cleaning. The project’s success culminated in their daughter’s wedding, which was held at the property the following summer.
